Superhero (healthcareWoman)

-To me, a superhero is an individual who posses extraordinary, supernatural powers. A superhero is usually strong, intelligent, fearless, aggressive, and just.

Favorite superheroes:
I like Aquaman, because I feel he is the most underrated superhero and he fights crime on land AND sea.

I like Superman because he's strong and he fights for justice.

I like Wonderwoman because she is as strong and powerful as the male superheroes.

Real heroes:

All members of our Armed Forces are heroes, as they protect our freedom and risk their lives for others.

Doctors are heroes, as they help saves lives.

Scientists are heroes, as they work to improve and save lives constantly.

Three important social issues:
-healthcare
-global warming
-obesity

David Meanix

My top three painting of his:

I like this painting, as it is mysterious and open for interpretation. One might wonder why his face is ripped and why the object of the picture carries a blank expression.

I find this beautiful because of its uniqueness. I have never see artwork quite like it.

I enjoy this artwork simply because it is beautiful to look at.

I am a fan of David Meanix's work. He is original and his works are always open for interpretation. Meanix is the epitome of a creative individual.

Meanix's work is often base of fear. Here are my top 5 fears:

1. Aquaphobia- fear of drowning
2. Cancerophobia- fear of cancer
3. Mysophobia- fear of germs
4. Arsonphobia- fear of fires
5. Entomophobia- fear of insects

Magazine Cover Comparison

Old magazine I found:

Newer magazine I found:

Difference between the two:
The old magazine features a drawing, while this new one uses a beautiful model. The old one costs far less (5 cents) than the typical 5-dollar read on today's supermarket shelves. In addition, the old magazine features the creators and editors of the magazine on the cover, where as the new one does not

I Don't Want To Taco-bout My Printmaking

Lichtenstein (Pop Art part 2)

5 facts about Roy Lichtenstein:
1. He was born on October 27, 1923.
2. He was married twice.
3. As a child, he was interested in science and comic books.
4. He worked at Rutgers University.
5. At first, he didn't focus on his emotions when painting. His work was mostly based on comic books.

Examples of his works:

"Ben- Day Dots" were used to print things. In order to achieve their desired effect, an individual would have to consider spacing and color. Although it was invented by Benjamin Henry Day Jr., Roy Lichtenstein made the technique famous, as he used it in many of his works.

How Lichtenstein Differs from Warhol
Lichtenstein focused on comic book characters and modernizing his work, while Warhol enjoyed painting and drawing celebrities. Also, Lichtenstein was "inspired" by other artists in such a way that some argue he should not receive credit for some of his own work. Warhol, however, was an honest man in his work and everything he created was completely original.
