Fashion Unit

Horst Diekgerdes:  This photographer uses light and darkness to show the contrast of photos and life. The pictures often have fairytale-like themes. I like this person simply because their work intertests me.

Sebastian Kim: This photographer shows models and celebrities in mysterious fashions. I like him because his work is very colorful and has many different types of people pot rayed in them.

Alice Hawkins: This photographer takes odd photos including a lot of color. I like them because they focus on the clothes and makeup, but they still make you question the point of the picture.

TIPS FOR FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY:
1. Photograph your model in a confident body position.
2. Use a prop to tell a story
3. experiment with different angles
4. Use a good model
5. experiment with different lighting
6. Show all the positive aspects of the product you're advertising
7. Coordinate your hair/makeup with the product
8. Break the rules
9. Plan the location
10.make sure everything compliments each other (setting, model, outfit, ect)

1. Photograph your model in a confident body position. Both models are in confident poses with fierce faces.

2. Use a prop to tell a story. Theses photos are mysterious and both use props (butterflies and squid)

3. experiment with different angles. One is from the side and the other from the back.

4. Use a good model. Both of these models are confident and beautiful.

5. experiment with different lighting. One uses a lot of light in the front and the other is black and white.

6. Show all the positive aspects of the product you're advertising. both show the clothes in many different circumstances.

7. Coordinate your hair/makeup with the product. Both match, or even contrast.

8. Break the rules. These models are just goofy...or there i only feet... but it is still a good picture.

9. Plan the location. These have interesting locations.

10.make sure everything compliments each other (setting, model, outfit, act). Everything matches.

Sports Photogrpahy

My favorite sports:
-running
-dancing
-gymnastics

Photographers take click snaps to capture the perfect shot without making it blurry. They also must use very up-to-date and high tech cameras to assist them. In order to capture motion shots, photographers probably have a good focus on their camera. They also probably take multiple to have a choice of the best one. Finally, photographers must have good hand-eye coordination to take the pictures quickly.

http://prezi.com/amoemtsb6m78/sports-2/ This was my favorite slideshow. It incorporated multiple pictures. It offered lots of information on sports, including unusual ones. It taught me about photography as well as players. It was, by far, the most entertaining.

"Because Of Them I Can"

This political movement shows that children will prosper when given positive role models. Like the work of James (past post), it focuses on children and children's right. Unlike James' work, however, the woman running this movement keeps a light feel, while James' is more serious and deep. Also, this woman does not focus on the children's backgrounds. She wants to inspire children, specifically, to shoot for the stars. She wants to appeal to ALL children. James, however, runs a movement that is aimed at adults. It more so works to improve lives of poor kids. So while both movements work with children, they are very different.

James Mollison

James Mollison needed a way to bring attention to children's rights. He decided that he would take pictures of multiple children's living situations to show a contrast between the wealthy and poor. The message is shown. He also wanted to show the children against a plain background so they all appear simply as children and the amount of wealth they have vanishes.
